Again the cases in this chapter have been extensively edited; they introduce the doctrinal and conceptual framework that controls and determines the federal scope of authority governing maritime matters. Be sure to take the time to "squib brief" each case . You will want to review and answer the notes questions on pages 82-83.

    3. Do as requested in Steamboat Wally problem.
